    After long waiting in the queue, we finally get hold of our rack in the UBC Data Centre in the Pharmaceutical Sicences Building. We are moving our servers into this state-of-art facility.

To use the Ricoh/HP printers, you need a registered CWL account and at least one valid speedchart. Please feel free to contact us at helpdesk@botany.ubc.ca to register or find out more information about your account.

Blue Jeans Conferencing


BlueJeans provides an interoperable cloud-based video meetings service that connects many users across different devices. We can provide video conferencing session for up to 25 participants globally.

    Botany Backup Service has been discontinued on March 31, 2021.
  • Backup Service outage
    Currently our inSync Backup Service is not working. We are investigating the cause. We will update you the progress ASAP.

    We plan to install a new SSL certificate in our print management server (AKA PaperCut server) at 12 PM on Friday, July 12, 2019.   • Botany websites unavailable for updates.
    All Botany Drupal websites (botany.ubc.ca, in.botany.ubc.ca, db.botany.ubc.ca) are not available between 3-5pm on Wednesday, Mar 13, 2019.

    All Botany Drupal websites will be unavailable briefly between 4-5PM on Wednesday, Feb 20 for security updates.

  • Botany Backup Service back to normal
    Due to backup storage system migration request by UBC IT, Botany Backup service was unavailable for a few days. It took more time to migrate than we expected. But finally this service is back to normal since early on Saturday, Feb 9.
  • Botany websites maintenance – done
    Several Botany websites were temporary unavailable for maintenance. Now we have applied the security patches. Everything should be back to normal.
  • Backup service recovered
    Botany backup service is now back to work around 3PM on Jan 16, 2019. There was some storage problem. We contacted UBC IT, and they have fixed the problem.
